It's exciting in this day and age when every square foot of the earth is surveyed we can still find 125,000 low land gorillas deep in the forests in Africa. Now can we just leave them alone?!

I am watching it closely. No one can no the real consequence until it actually happens. From the page: "The Grand Canyon is about to take a bath, and National Park Service officials who oversee the natural wonder are worried. Federal flood control managers, led by Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne, this week plan to unleash millions of cubic feet of water from behind Glen Canyon Dam to "flush" the huge canyon bottom with a simulated springtime flood."

From the page: More clashes with people Elephants can turn woodlands to grass and stubs in a matter of years. They need to roam widely to get their daily diet of about 660 pounds of grass, leaves and twigs and up to 52 gallons of water. And they increasingly clash with people. "Our simple reality is that elephant population density has risen so much in some southern African countries that there is concern about impacts on the landscape, the viability of other species and the livelihoods and safety of people living within elephant ranges," van Schalkwyk said. The bottom line is that they will be killed because of their clash with ever growing human needs. This is so sad.

From the page: "Gray wolves will be fair game for hunters in parts of the northern Rocky Mountains after federal officials announced Thursday that they would be taken off the endangered species list. The decision, which is expected to face lengthy litigation, comes after a 20-year effort to reestablish gray wolf populations in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming." Hunting for food, I get it. But I will never understand the desire to hunt wolfs, or anything, just for fun.

Consuming green products is still consuming. But we already know that.

To those to call it ANWR, just look at the pictures. I personally think the reason for the intentional abbreviation by politicians is presenting a false picture of a barren land.

If you don't have time to read Natural Capitalism, the book, this 16 page Harvard Business School Review article can give you a good synopsis.
